Paige H.
Beauty Expert
Website: Bronze Buffer

Ask Paige Herman-Axel what she does for a living, and brace yourself for a long-winded answer. But ask this beauty expert about being a mom to 4 ½-year-old Sawyer, and her response is simple: “It’s the best! I can’t imagine my life without him!”

This working mom wears many hats (as all moms do), but she has an array to choose from when she’s out of carpool line or off the soccer sidelines. With 15 years of experience in the beauty biz, Paige has morphed from magazine beauty editor to full-time freelancer, writing for international skincare companies, top websites, doctors, and more. She also blogs daily on her site, InsiderBeautyBuzz.com, and she recently added product development to her resume.

Her newest baby (Sawyer is an “only”) is the Bronze Buffer, a little sun-shaped sponge that removes unwanted self-tanner (including streaks, orange palms and color buildup on the knees and ankles). Having just launched in February, her days are now filled with PR, sales, design and, of course, product testing. “I got the idea for the Bronze Buffer last summer, and I’ve been walking around with streaks on my arms and legs since. It doesn’t look like much of a testament to my beauty expertise”—but it is. In just a few short months, sales are through the roof, and she’s already busy developing the Bronze Buffer’s little sister, which is due next spring.

So how does she balance it all? “Full-time school has come in pretty handy work-wise, and I’m so lucky to have my mom around to help,” Paige admits—and the Bronze Buffer has become a family affair. “He gets so excited when I tell him how many I sell each day and he even brought them for show-and-tell.” Could he take the reigns of the company one day? “It’s possible, but he may have to take over Daddy’s real estate investing company, too, and then he’ll be even busier than I am now!”
